How can I get watermarks out of satin / satin or silk?
I've hired a Chinese dress by hand in a store costumes, I was wearing last weekend. It has no labels, so I'm not exactly sweating the fabric. His or silk, satin or satin. I noticed some small black marks, last night I managed to get out with water. However, there is now a dried are great spotted watermarks, where I moistened the dress! Is there anyway of geting this off? Would they come out if drycleaned? (However, the dress is due back tomorrow so do not really have time for this) If the marks are noticed by the people rental store I'll have to pay £ 60!
Take it to your cleaners dry and apply the service the same day. It will cost a little more, but will always be less than the store that you have hired the dress will charge. They must be able to obtain water mark. You should not try to do something else since you do not know what the fabric is, or how it will be affected by any further efforts to resolve the issue.
